Borthday

Yes, it's my birthday today. Nice, eh? Well, yeah, kinda. But...

1) Hey, it's not like I became 19 in one moment. It was a gradual, slow, sometimes dejecting process. I liked it though. I because a bit more studious, a bit more outgoing, a bit less narrow-minded.

2) Well, all that's happened is: the earth made 19 revolutions (approx.) since I came into this world. But, did I become conscious then? Should we count it from the date of conception? Is birth as important as the two aforementioned events? Shouldn't the day I picked up my first copy of Childcraft be more important (I read science, stories and limericks there, when I was a kid).

3) My future is still uncertain (even not thinking of physics for a while, which is kinda hard for me).

4) My present is confusing.

5) Life, and the world, sucks. Kinda.

Ok, I never really rant about my personal life on the blog, and I don't want to break that tradition (I like being "British" sometimes ;-) ). But, just to let you know. Anonick is now 19, and he celebrates with some limericks:

The first one is benign:

The month of December brings
Among a lot of nice other things
Like Christmas,
(A lot of fuss,)
And, when "Happy Birthday" they sing. :D

A bit sexual, this second one:

There was a man born in December
Who's out of boyhood, into ember
And whose progress
Would NOT be less
If he'd just stop abusing his member!

Being busy, and a change

Well, I registered today on "Writely.com"... I tried to post to the blog from there... didn't work. Hopefully is this probalem is solved, I can post to my blog from writely... better formatted posts. :)

I'm busy, exams are close, and study is taking up much of my time. I'm so sorry... I'll try to post frequently inspite of that... only, gimme a day or two to organise my studies and all. :-)

So, that's that... I end this short post with a limerick :-)

There was a man names Lance
Who was very afraid of exams
He'd just eat his books
(To the wonder of his cooks)
Vomiting them out in the exams!

Well, all I can think about is exams... :-(.

I've been a-studying

Well, not exactly... but I've been busy. I'm also trying to study for the exams, which are in a month. So, I've not been able to update my blog much, although I have a few new ideas, like a "favourite" lists, and a post on astrology. Those'll come soon... currently, I'm too busy to think and post. But here are two mediocre on-the-spot limericks, so that you won't miss the Limericker ;-) :

There was an ancient king named Tut
Who died early, from murder or cut?
But they say he curses
Those who lift his purses
Be that as it may, he sure kicks butt!

There was a crazy Dutchman named Snell
Who fell in a deep water-filled well
He saw that the light-line
Was deflected by theta-sine
Times n, and this was his to tell!

Personal and Private

*Warning* Er... Personal post. Thinking about me, not you. Shoo.

Well... er... there's nothing really private about this post, but it IS my first official personal post... Hope you like it. And, er... the warning is meant to be only funny, not insulting. :-) There are two unrelated limericks at the bottom... I haven't posted lims in days.

About me... Er... I'm male. And I Err... a lot. But beside that ;-).

I'm what I'd call a nerd, but others may differ in opinion. I like Physics a lot, and movies and music are my other passions. I don't really read fiction, but I read nonfiction with zest. I like sitting on the internet and surfing away, or reading ebooks.

I go to college, plan to major in Physics. College is fun, I'm part of a group of five, and we're the clique I referred to in an recent poem. Don't read too much into it, though: we have fun.

OK, That's all I can manage for now... I'm not used to writing about myself. I'll do short posts about my life sometimes, but they'll be just that: short. :-)

A small village on the bank of the river
The clear water could make you shiver
But soon the pollution
Caused it's execution
Now the river is a black, dirty sewer!

Today's Word-Of-The-Day was "palinode", meaning "A poem in which the author retracts something said in an earlier poem." Let me try one... the reference is to this limerick (the one condemning wrong metre). (Idea suggested by absconding soul.)

Oh what have you done, traitor!
You've destroyed, annihilated your metre!
But my poems' are nice
Poor metre is just spice
When critics are unsatisfied, they hit her!*

*The wrong rhyme kinda takes the attention off the metre, eh? lol.

Bestest Blog

My Blog is now Bestest Blog of the day (July 18th) on Bestest Blog of all time . I am so thrilled! :D I never really expected this, but now... it'll take time to sink in. I want to thank Bobby Griffin for this. I've always wanted to reach many people, and now I can. :-)

I feel like I'm recieving a Oscar :D. "I'd like to thank my muse, my friends who supported me..." ... lol! Keep reading, I promise to keep posting (unless college is too busy ;-) ). Do comment, and do have fun!

India Blocks Blogs

Along with good news come bad things . (Or maybe I'm too pessimistic.) This is the Bad thing. Here is another article. I'll quote from both articles. Do read them. This is one more... it has much info. (an update on the post).

From the former article:
Web sites can be blocked if they contain pornography, speeches of hate, contempt, slander or defamation, or if they promote gambling, racism, violence or terrorism.

I can't see my own blog without a proxy. Does it contain those things too? Or does my friend's, who does nothing but praise India? I cannot even see Bestest Blog of All Time. I think this is a serious thing... a violation of the Freedom of Expression. Maybe I'm taking it too seriously... I quote from the latter article:

A post on The Great Indian Mutiny (http://mutiny.wordpress.com/2006/07/17/blog-blackout/) asked for more maturity from users as the issue was not freedom of speech, but only a temporary security measure.

I hope so. I hope I can see my blog again, I hope the thousand of blogs who have been blocked inspite of being, to use real life terminology, "innocent", are back again. I'll wait for a few weeks. I'm sad. But I'm ready to be patient if it's a security measure. :-) I hope everything will be back to normal soon.

Well... I've been busy

 I was sick for two days, and then there were the Mumbai blasts. Thankfully I was at home. It's very sad, what happenned. My friend has written about it on his blog (listed on the left). Do see it.

 I have been busy with college and study, after the blasts. So I don't have a post ready currently, but I'm working on it. I'll post it soon, but for the time being, I just wanted to let you know I'm OK. :-)

 Here's a limerick for being patient : :D

 Arghhh! I sooo hate to study
 I know that I'm a nerd, bloody!
 But surely there is
 Some way out of this
 Or I'll have only a book for a buddy!

 My college starts on 12th June, it's the second year. I can't stand that there are 6 days remaining ... Ah well... ;-).

My Hobbies

I am primarily interested in Physics, Music and Movies. The music being of the bollywood variety, but the movies being primarily hollywood.

Physics is my main interest, and I want to make a career in it. I'm a freshman in college, and want to major in Physics. I'm currently studying (by myself, it being the holidays) Griffiths, and Mechanics from an ebook by David Morin (who writes good limericks, btw :D).

I mainly like dark dramatic movies, and sometimes ones that are silly and funny. My favourites are: The Godfather, A Beautiful Mind, Liar Liar, etc.

I have lots of free time in the holidays, so I can make many limericks ;).
